Buea, Cameroon — On 1 July 2026, Mount Zion Higher Institute (MZHI) signed a historic affiliation agreement with the University of Buea, marking a major step forward for nursing, midwifery, and healthcare education in Cameroon.

Under the partnership, the University of Buea will award Bachelor’s degrees, while MZHI continues delivering hands-on academic and professional training in line with national education laws. Together, the institutions aim to produce competent, ethical healthcare professionals ready to meet society’s needs.

For MZHI Proprietor Dr. Paul Atem, the signing capped years of dedication and represents the fulfillment of his vision for the institute. MZHI now offers a four-year Bachelor’s programme and a one-year pathway for HND holders, blending scientific knowledge with clinical experience.

MZHI thanks the Ministry of Higher Education, the Government of Cameroon and the University of Buea.
